The Jacksonville Jaguars will need more than just this draft to get their team back to form.
Competing is not going to be the name of the game next season. It will be a rebuilding year. Trevor Lawrence is not going to change that. However, the Jaguars have four picks in the first two rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft. I do not anticipate the team trading up or down for anybody, but I would not rule it out, either. I think the Jags will take what they’ve been given and select the best prospects available based on need… Which is at nearly every position.
With that said, here is my seven-round 2021 NFL mock draft for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Jaguars lock in on Lawrence with the top pick
No surprises here, huh?
Trevor Lawrence is the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck. We all said that last year about Joe Burrow, but if I could describe Trevor Lawrence as a player, he’s like a reasonably mobile Peyton Manning. Scary, right?
Lawrence can make any throw on the field. He extends plays effortlessly through his pocket movement, and he can scramble and throw dimes on the run down the sideline like a seasoned pro. All he needs to do is work on getting through his progressions in a more timely fashion, and he could be an All-Pro sooner rather than later.
Gardner Minshew is not the answer, and neither is Mike Glennon. It’s a no-brainer here to take the future of the franchise with the number one pick.
