The Denver Broncos had a COVID-19 protocol with Drew Lock. He experienced a close contact and learned of it after the team landed. While official word that he tested positive hasn’t been released, a vaccinated player is only isolated if a positive test is received. The league is onw conducting contact tracing.
Aside from losing their backup quarterback, the Broncos are also really thin at edge rusher with Malik Reed being downgraded to out this week. That’ll leave them with Johnathon Cooper, Andre Mintze, and Stephen Weatherly. Another blow to the defense came in the form of Mike Purcell being inactive as well. That will likely leave the middle of the defense a little soft at the point of attack. Not ideal with Zeke Elliot in the backfield for the Dallas Cowboys.
Speaking of the Cowboys, they had both their starting wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper on their injury reports, but both are active and will be playing. The only notable player out for them in this game is tackle Tyron Smith.
