The injury bug bit the Atlanta Braves hard this week and while Ozzie Albies may be getting close to a return, Max Fried and Chris Martin still may be a little ways away. Albies remained out of the lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the Cubs but Brian Snitker is hoping that he will be ready to return for Tuesday’s series opener in New York. Albies was hit in the calf by a pitch in Friday’s win over the Cubs.
Snitker and the Braves remain hopeful that Fried will be able to return for his next scheduled start but he was still feeling soreness on Sunday. The team will play it safe with Fried and won’t need to add another starter to the rotation before April 27 thanks to a couple of off days this week.
Chris Martin has been inactive for the last two weeks due to shoulder inflammation. Snitker said that he wasn’t sure when Martin would be cleared to begin throwing exercises.

The Braves homered four times in the first inning for the first time since 2003 and secured a series win with a blowout victory over the Chicago Cubs.
