Lakers news: LA icon obliterates 'disaster' Dennis Schroder for FA fiasco - ClutchPoints

Dennis Schroder could very well be the last man standing in this offseason’s game of musical chairs. The Los Angeles Lakers free agent has yet to sign with a team, or even come close for that matter, as interest for his services has reportedly dwindled in recent weeks.

Now it appears one Lakers legend is adding insult to injury. Robert Horry recently appeared on The Jump and blasted Dennis Schroder for trying to “play games” with Los Angeles despite claiming he wanted to return.

“You said, ‘Oh, I want to return to the Lakers.’ But you wanted to play games. Now you are the disaster of your own game plan. You don’t know what you’re going to do. You probably lost about $60 million because you didn’t sign with the Lakers. Now you’re probably going to have to sign a one-year deal because I don’t think the Lakers are going to bring you back because they’re stacked now. They have no room for you.

“He wanted to be a starter in this league,” the Lakers legend continued. Now wherever he goes, he’s going to go back to being a back-up. I just hope it doesn’t turn out like an IT situation where you pass up on all this money, and you can never recoup it.”

Tell us how you really feel, Robert Horry. Even former Lakers guard Isaiah Thomas caught a stray there. The seven-time NBA champion really laid into Dennis Schroder, but you can’t argue against his points there. The Lakers were intent on keeping Schroder all season long to be their starting point guard.

Now that they’ve moved on, and the rest of the league locks up other free agent point guards, the clock is ticking for Dennis Schroder to find a home.
