Why the Colts can cover

Indianapolis hasn't found its stride offensively this season, but the roster does have talent at every spot. Carson Wentz is a former top prospect, and he ranks in the top five of the NFL in throwing an interception on only 0.7 percent of attempts. Jonathan Taylor is one of the best pure runners in the NFL, generating 1,169 rushing yards as a rookie in 2020. Taylor has 274 rushing yards in four games this season, and he is producing 4.7 yards per carry. On the outside, Michael Pittman has 250 receiving yards in the last three games, and he is rounding into form as a primary target.

As a team, the Colts have committed only four turnovers this season, and that should help them to be more than competitive in this game. Baltimore is No. 24 in the NFL in passing defense this season, with bottom-10 marks in scoring percentage (opponents scoring on 31.1 percent of drives) and third down efficiency allowed (34 percent).

Why the Ravens can cover

Lamar Jackson is one of the most talented and effective offensive players in the NFL, as evidenced by a previous MVP honor. Jackson puts pressure on the opposition with elite rushing ability and a potent arm, and he currently leads the NFL in yards per pass completion (14.4). Jackson is a top-five player in yards per attempt (8.7), illustrating his efficiency, and his rushing numbers are off the charts for a quarterback. He ranks in the top 10 overall in rushing yards this season, generating 279 yards on the ground in four games, and Jackson is tied for third in the league in averaging 6.6 yards per carry.

Jackson also has intriguing weapons, including tight end Mark Andrews, and Marquise Brown is experiencing a breakout in his third season. Brown ranks in the top 10 of the NFL in receiving yards (326) and receiving touchdowns (three), and the speedy pass-catcher ranks seventh in the league, averaging a robust 17.2 yards per catch for the season.
