The Brooklyn Nets were the story on Tuesday night in the opening game of the 2020-21 regular season schedule as Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving looked like they were already in midseason form in their first official game as teammates leading the Nets to a 125-99 win over Stephen Curry and the Warriors at Barclays Center.
In his return to the floor, Durant recorded 22 points in just 25 minutes of action while Irving led the way for Brooklyn with a game-high 26 points on 10-of-16 from the field. Durant and Irving received plenty of help from the second unit as well as Caris LeVert provided Brooklyn with 20 points off of the bench in the win.
On the other side, Curry led the Warriors with 20 points in 30 minutes of action while rookie big man James Wiseman chipped in 19 points and six rebounds in his NBA debut. Unfortunately, the rest of Golden State's roster struggled to provide the necessary help on the offensive end to make this game competitive.
